Resumé:
Reyes Gómez is originally from the town of Santa María Alotepec, and belongs to the Mixe indigenous. The word Mixe means “cloud” and this is the reason why the Mixes are also known as the “Cloud Nation”.
ARTISTIC EDUCATION
1992_1996 Studied etching in the Rufino Tamayo Graphic Workshop in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez under the tuteledge of Juan Alcázar.
1997_2002 Received a scholarship from the Afroasiatic Institute of Viena Austria and studied at the University of the Applied Arts. (Universität für die Angewante Kunst in Wien) with Wolfgang Herzig, Heribert Just and Marion Elias.
2002_2003 Received the scholarship ERSMUS from the Academia de Bellas Artes of Venice, Italy. Studied oil painting with Martelli Bendini and etching with Diana Ferrara and Giuseppe Fantinato.

1996 “Espíritu Latino” in the Araucaria Gallery, Gran Ducado of Luxemburg
1997 “La casa del cuervo” Mexican Cultural Center, Viena Austria.
1998 Had his artwork “Colores de los indios mexicanos” selected to represent Latinamerica in an exhibit int he United Nations Gallery in Viena, Austria. - Atomic Energie Agency Gallery, UNO City.
1999 “Memorias en corteza de árbol.” Mexican Embassy in Bonn, Germany.
1999 "Festival de la cultura mexicana” Szene Wien, Viena, Austria.
2000 Represented his country in the Festival of Latinamerican Culture in two presentations, one in Milan and the other in Verona, Italy.
2001 “Pintura mexicana” Contemporary art gallery of Tatanbànya, Hungry.
2001 Illustrated the book “Ley de Derechos Lingüísticos de los Pueblos y Comunidades Indígenas” second edition.
2002 Published his first book of lithographs in the presentation “Cantares de un indio mexicano”.
2002_2007 The series of “Colores de los indios mexicanos”, promoted by the Mexican embassys and counsulates goes on an art tour of 15 European countries from Bratislava, Slovaquia, to Lisboa, Portugal.

2003 Published his book “Los armadillos”
2004 Published his book “El niño de la ciudad”
2005 “Dibujando al pastel” Jungle Red, Minniapolis, Minnessota, USA
2006 Initiated the project of “Casa Cultural Condoy” with a presentation of 52 oil paintings.
2007 The series “Colores de los indios mexicanos”, was solicited by the General Mexican Cousulate in Dallas, Texas USA, for a showing in the Dallas public library for the Second International Book Fair.
2008 Published his book of etchings “Flor y canto”.
2009 A showing of different etching techniques in the Ex-convent of Carmen in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
2010 Waiting for the publication of his next book “Cerro de arqueros” from the Spanish editor Cirpus at www.cirpus.com
