Having been born in a small, indigenous mountain town high up in the Mixe mountains called Alotepec, it was difficult for him to get access the same opportunities as those born into the higher classes in Mexico.

With burning desire and profound intensity, Reyes Gómez literally broke out of poverty and went after those opportunities that have eluded other indigenous men like him. He has since travelled the world receiving scholarships to study art in places like Austria, Africa, Italy and Asia.

Well-known and respected in the art world, Reyes Gómez now opens his online art gallery so all may enjoy his steel plate etchings.
